Merinda spent this summer in New York. First, she spent a few weeks studying contemporary at International Contemporary Masters (ICM). She reports that she had the privilege of learning “Gaga” and counter technique movement, as well as Laudani and McGregor Repertoire. In addition to the contemporary training, she had daily classical ballet classes. She completed those weeks very inspired and motivated, and after spending time with one of her mentors, is now including pursuing professional performance opportunities that offer a balance of Ballet and Contemporary styles.
She followed those weeks with 3 weeks at the John Cranko Summer Intensive. She was placed in the highest level, which had daily technique, pointe, partnering, and repertoire classes. Her comment about this summer’s training is, “This is by far the best training experience I could have ever wished for!” She now plans to pursue some employment opportunities, while still training.
